I currently work at a large defense contractor and I just got an offer from LM. After considering it for a week and discussing it with my current employer I decided to accept. It pays a lot better and I think the environment and professional development are huge improvements. Well within minutes of accepting I got a phone call from my HR dept and they want to interview me for a top mgt position. I haven't resigned yet, I wanted to ensure my clearance goes through first. I think my director and VP are attempting to retain me after they heard about my offer. This would be a major promotion. Would I burn a bridge with LM if I accepted and then ditched them to get this mgr job? I am so pumped about working for LM and I am a man of my word so I'd hate to screw them over. Terrible timing!
