Hello,
I am looking for some guidance re: the application process w/Lockheed.
Since mid-May, I've applied to 7 paralegal positions w/Lockheed (either in VA, DC or MD - I currently live in VA).
The timeline I've experienced thus far:
1) 6/10 - A CA recruiter e-mailed me re: some basic questions about my employment history & salary expectations (I replied the same day).
2) 6/25 - I was contacted by a different person from the MD office to fill out paperwork for a security clearance. I filled it out, and forwarded it the appropriate person the next day.
3) 6/27 - I was contacted by a third person (also from CA), who CC'd my recruiter, and asked to fill out the formal application w/in 48 hrs (which I did). This same day, I emailed my recruiter and asked if she knew of a general guideline re: the progression of my application, as I am new to applying w/LM. She responded the next day saying my resume would be fwd'd on to the manager (and possibly the DOJ) for review, but that it would be difficult to tell how long it will take before interview selections are made. She also said she may consider me for other similar job openings they have at the moment.
So, I guess I just want to know, from someone who has perhaps went through a similar process, what to expect from here on out. Is this pretty standard communication btwn a recruiter and an applicant? I'd like to think they're somewhat interested since I've been asked to complete the clearance forms & the standard application, but I also realize that this is a huge company that could very well just be keeping their options open for the future.
Should I follow up at any point? June 27 was our last communication (all communication has been via e-mail), but I know things probably slowed down w/the long holiday weekend.
