hello,
so in the past year i have interviewed in LM a total of 4 times. one with college recruiters, one phone interview, one in cape canaveral and this last one in Huntsville. funny thing is all of the interviews have been for positions i didnt apply, but the recruiter or hiring manager contacted me.
I am entry level and currently interning in a aersopace company as a test engineer.
My interview was yesterday (tuesday oct 21). Just curious how long will it take. i dont know ihave had my heart broken with them before so i dont want to get my hopes up.
anyways, any input as to when will I hear back from LM?

Lockheed Martin Forum - Prescreen- how long to wait for the call?: I received an e-mail from a recruiter fo...
I received an e-mail from a recruiter for a position that I applied for that was asking me to provide 3 dates and times for a prescreen interview. I provided the 3 dates and times but was never contacted. I sent a follow up e-mail with another 3 dates and times, as well as asking if the recruiter had received my previous e-mail while providing an alternate e-mail address. Again I did not receive a call on any of the dates and times provided. It has been 2 weeks since the initial e-mail asking me for dates and times and I have not heard anything back. It is obviously a position of interest and desire for me, but I don't want to bombard and upset anyone in HR with multiple e-mails. What is the typical time frame to hear back so that we can conduct the prescreen and hopefully press forward? If I havent heard back, what is the next recommended course of action I should take?
Thanks

Lockheed Martin Forum - Career Change - LM Candidate Approach?: BLUF: Mid-40’s lead eng background looki...
BLUF: Mid-40’s lead eng background looking to join Lockheed (LM) but in a role significantly different and lower pay than previous work. Need some advice on traditionally “red flag” aspects and don’t want to blow it.
1) There are jobs LM has that I find very interesting and were actually an important part of the programs I technically led. With my background, I’d rock the job and provide amazing value-add. Has anyone gone from a “big shot” job to something not as “big shot” successfully with LM?
2) Has anyone tried and run into the dreaded “well you’re overqualified”, “why do you want to make 1/3 of what you previously made” and etc. but been able to successfully make your case and get hired? To have structure, sanity and longevity, I’m happy to trade. However, I have been involved on the other end where I saw a great applicant who I thought would be great get summarily shafted by HR because of these things. Any tips?
3) Any other advice?
Some background:
Previously, I have worked daily with LM PMs and Lead Engs on gov’t programs in my role as a Sr / Lead Eng with a small business. Compared to the disorganized and (…) management of the small business, LM was fantastic with respect to “having their act together” in all program lifecycle aspects. OK, so here’s the fun part. I literally burned out so that is why I left (NOBODY should have 200+ hours of unused vacation time -- I see that now :-P). I suppose as a consolation, it didn’t come as a surprise to the LM folks I worked with. However, even saying that I believe makes an HR person cringe and if I went into why this happened … isn’t that baggage baggage baggage?. I desire a life outside of work and the time to experience it. I do not want to burn out again. I believe if I had been in the same position at LM, I’d have been a happy person, based on the people I interacted with. However, not the case. (BTW, the LM business area I believe is now defunct).

Will the recruiter ignores my resume if I'm still deployed in Japan and will be out of the service and coming back to the U.S. in about 6 months? Will they do a long progress of pre-screening for me even I am a secret cleared person?

I just applied to Lockheed Martin. A few days later they responded telling me the top salary range is 35K and if I was still interested.
1. I thought it was weird to just throw that number out there.
2. Is it the true starting limit? If not what is it.
Please help I have a decent paying job but don't know where it will lead. Would like to get into a larger company instead of the mom and pop shop. Thanks

The job REQ's in most cases are universal so it's likely not for the exact same position but another one. It could be that they had an internal candidate fill the position and another open up, could be funding problems, or it could be you simply weren't qualified. Make sure you meet the basic qualifications and that it's expressed in your resume. Lastly they may just be looking for more resumes.

Lockheed Martin Forum - How long should I expect to wait for a decision?: [QUOTE who="GT_Aero in Scottsdale, Arizo...
Hey everyone,
So I was recently flown out for an on-site interview for an engineering position with Lockheed Martin . The job seemed like the perfect fit and both of the interviewers really seemed to like me. The interview went really well. At the end they gave me their cards and told me they would be giving HR their decision next Wednesday (which was last Wednesday) and that I should be hearing from HR on a decision.
So my question is how long should I expect to wait on a decision? I've heard that Lockheed Martin often spends some time doing a background check and/or putting together an offer package before contacting candidates. I've really only had one job (TA) and have no criminal background so I can't imagine the background check will take too long.
Also, would it be fine to contact the interviewers or HR to ask about the my status for the job? I feel like the engineers (future bosses if I get the job) who interviewed me could probably just tell me if I got it instead of waiting for HR for a decision.
Did they ever call you, I just went on Thursday, and I was told I'll be hearing from them.

I received an email Friday asking would I be available for onsite interview in Baltimore, currently I'm in Alabama. I attended the interview on that following Thursday, and I did an awesome job, both the hiring and facility manager said I will be hearing from them. It was rare I had no phone interview but was scheduled to attend an onsite interview. Do you think I'll get an offer?

I noticed a summer college intern position in Hawaii. It is part-time. First of all this is a double bonus to me. 1st it is an internship at LM, 2nd it is in Hawaii. does anyone know how this intern works. are they looking for someone currently living in Hawaii? Do they pay for transportation? Do they have the ability to help find roommates/lodging while there?

Lockheed Martin Forum - What is the process?: I am a recent graduate from major univer...
I am a recent graduate from major university in New York State. I applied for several positions with Lockheed Martin, as well as other companies in my hometown area of Falls Church. I had passed the initial pre-screening, filled out their application which was sent to me via email, had an interview back in October 1 of this year, which I thought went well, then submitted a work sample based on their criteria. This, I admit, was not my best work. However, when I left the interview they gave me the name of an HR rep that they encouraged me to keep emailing for updates. I have been keeping in contact with him weekly, and since then there has been no change in my interview status. I am still under "interview" status, and have been continuously every time it is updated. The last time it was updated was a few days ago, which I assume happens every time someone looks at it. I know November and December are the worst months for hiring, but I can't really get a clear answer as to what exactly is going on. Although I am still looking elsewhere, should I totally give up on this position?

Lockheed Martin Forum - Struggling Student: Just a couple of questions about how Loc...
Just a couple of questions about how Lockheed screens a candidate.
Some Background:
I'm a Junior environmental science and technology student. Up until this semester I was an engineering student, but I was doing really poorly and it was affecting my health so I decided to make the switch.
Now I'm applying for a corporate internship in sustainability with Lockheed and I also submitted my application to the Talent Acquisition pool.
I know a lot of people on here mostly talk about the technical jobs, but with the corporate sustainability internship will my low gpa from my previous major (~2.5) disqualify me immediately? I pretty much have all of the experience they're asking for in the job post, but I didn't mention any of my struggles with my previous major in my cover letter, so they really have no way of knowing why my gpa is so low.
Also I recently got an email from a University recruiter (through the talent acquisition pool, though I honestly thought they were black holes), who is also asking for my GPA and "what one skill sets you a part from other applicants" so they can place me in job opportunities (I guess that means forwarding my info to different hiring managers around the country)
I just kind of want an idea of my chances. I really want to work for Lockheed, but I think I'll definitely be screened out because of this.

Lockheed Martin Forum - Career Change - LM Candidate Approach?: I'm in almost the exact situation, with ...
I'm in almost the exact situation, with the exception of pay rates and position. My primary motivation is relocating to the east coast. I would love the opportunity to work with LM in Georgia or Florida. I'm currently working for one of the other big 3 American aerospace companies (easy to guess by my location), and I'm looking to leverage my experience towards another similar position with LM. Pay is somewhat flexible given cost of living differences, but in my case I can't really justify more than, say, 15-20% lower than current at the most.
At any rate, I'm chiming in here because I'd be interested in any answers someone within LM would have to PC2014's questions above.
Thanks!

Hello all!
I am enthusiastic about obtaining a supply chain position at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth TX. I have applied to several positions and had an interview in Oct but did not get the job. I have a business management degree and working on a second in electrical engineering. I also have one year experience as a buyer contracting work with Lockheed, Boeing, and other major defense contractors. I always change my resume and cover letter to the specific job but still really not getting noticed.
I know the best way into Lockheed is an employee referral but I do not know anyone that works there. I am very persistent and do not want to give up my dream to work Lockheed Martin.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to get noticed or a special way to format my resume?
Thank You
Danielle
It can't hurt to try...I only connect through Linkedin with people that I've "met" in some way or other, and the experience must have been a positive one. Hi, Bob. I'm not sure if you're still active on this board, but the above reply caught my interest. I'm interested in seeking opportunities with LM, and I'd like to try to establish some contacts via Linkedin. Of the groups you referred to above, are there any specific that you would recommend? I've browsed and seen a few, along with numerous recruiter profiles, but I'm trying to avoid the old "throw the spaghetti against the wall and see what sticks" approach.
BTW, I recently purchased your e-book. Wonderful content, and definitely stuff I'm eager to put into practice! Thanks!

Lockheed Martin Forum - Prior aerospace experience vs. degree: Hello all, I was wondering if anyone ...
Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone could comment on Lockheed Martin's position on previous aerospace experience vs. level of formal education with regard to hiring practices. I have worked for Boeing for some time and am ready for a change. I've got experience in fabrication and developmental work, and while I don't have a full blown engineering degree, I have taken college courses on relevant engineering technology. My interest right now is looking into entry level production support type positions, such as planning or analyst. I know I don't have the credentials for a full engineering position, but my hope is to get into something that provides a bit more flexibility than the rigid scheduling of shop floor work, in order to fit in school time to purse a formal engineering degree.
Any insights, thoughts, and opinions on this would be appreciated.

Leslie thanks for being responsive to questions. I interviewed for an items analyst position two months ago and my status still shows open. Because I have not received a rejection letter I assume I am still being considered. Is this correct assumption. I felt my interview went well and am very excited to join the team but as time passes I am becoming more discouraged. How long before positions are filled, any insight?

Hi I am hoping to get an internship at Lockheed this summer and wanted to know if they have a policy or look down upon men with long hair? I would put it in a bun when I get there, but should I cut it before I go there or just see what they say to me? Are there male employees there with long hair?
thanks
