Hi, this is my first post here.
I accepted the a job with Lockheed last year, and one of the items on the conditions for hire was my graduation this month. However, my program does not accept my "C-" as satisfactory for graduation. I am trying to work it out with my department head, advisors, and professor.
I satisfy the GPA requirement just fine, but I had an unfortunate combination of circumstances that lead to poor academic performance last semester and the "C-". I don't think the class applies at all to what I will be doing, but I am already financially committed to a big move and am worried that they will completely rescind the job offer.
If I cannot resolve the situation soon, I plan to let my supervisor know the situation, the last thing I want is to be blacklisted for dishonesty, but I am scared of what will happen once Lockheed knows.
Does anybody have any input for my situation?

Lockheed Martin Forum - General Info (from LM employee): [QUOTE who="eggy in Palmdale, California...
Yikes. So much misinformation on here.
First, some background info on me- I've been at LM a little over 10 years. Started right out of college with a BA. Currently a hiring manager.
Regarding Finding a Job:
1 - you MUST submit your resume online.
2- we DO query the database (well, HR does and provides us a prescreened set of candidates)
3- applying to a bunch of jobs (someone here mentioned 50!) does you no good whatsoever. Pick a few your interested in.
4- if you keep applying with no response, your resumeprobably needs work, eh? LM hires something like 10k people a year - people ARE getting hired!
5- ymmv, but if we want to hire someone, they typically know w/in a week. Sometimes same day.
Regarding Salary:
1- don't ask what a level x makes. Noone can tell you - it varies too much based on job code (aero vs structures vs contracts vs business etc all have different ranges) and location
2- you do not get smaller raises the more you make
3- performance is a (big) differentiator in raises
3a - those only getting 1-2% aren't the high performers (or aren't perceived as such by their boss). The LOWEST raise I ever got was this year - a little over 3%, which isn't bad given the economy.
4- benefits are good. Not great, but good.
5- money from the pool does NOT get diverted into a LDP pool to keep them happy.
Hey I have a question in Fort Worth they are looking for material handlers and I fit the description they need perfect but what will disqualify me because I have a background but I don’t have any felonies but they are all so long ago, so do you know if they hire with a background?
I received notice today that LM is denying my clearance because of a Disorderly Person disposition from a Superior Court . I had a DUI (only one) in the summer of 2012. They weren't concerned with my one DUI but I was told I needed to "take the DP off my record" per LM.
Was it a conviction or just a charge? I thought for clearance that expunged/sealed records didnt matter. I assume that you would've gotten the job if you had it expunged off your record?
Hi guys, I had an interview 4 days ago, my interviewer said the decision will be made after New Year and also my application status has moved to Stage 3 "Interview", but a day after when I checked Candiate Zone the application which I was selected to interview dispappeared while there is another application which status "No longer under consideration for position" still there ? Does that mean they've made already decision for other candidate and I was rejected ?
Any updates on this. I was under interview status for awhile and now the application has disappeared. I typically would have applications moved to "no longer under consideration"

Hey I have worked for Lockheed Martin in the past as a Mechanical Field Engineer, and would like to get back with the company. I have a wealth of knowledge and can jump right in where I left off as a BETSS-C Trainer/Installer and PTDS Operator. If any one know a recruiter I can speak with I would appreciate a name and phone number. Thanks

I am still confused by "In addition to the base rate, the position also pays a Health & Welfare benefit rate of $4.41 (for the first forty hours worked in any work week). The H&W rate reflects an amount provided to offset the cost of all company provided bona fide fringe benefits. If there are funds left over after the reconciliation, those funds are paid directly to you."
My question is...will I have medical benefits and if so how much will it cost me? Will the 4.41 be added to my hourly salary? I am really confused.

Hello,
I recently applied to a few positions at Lockheed and got the email confirmation, but when I go to the "Submitted Applications" portion of their Careers web portal it is now showing all of the positions that I applied for. Has anyone else had this happen to them as well?

Lockheed Martin Forum - Should I be worried?: I've recently had some success at a LM j...
I've recently had some success at a LM job fair, where I was told they would reach out soon to give me an offer for a job. Less than a week later I received the offer along with all the paper work and info necessary to begin the hiring process. I completed said paper work same day, sent in my info to begin the background check the same day they requested it too, and completed my drug test a couple days after that. A couple weeks go by and I haven't heard anything, so I call Sterling to ask the status of my background check. They had completed it two days after I sent my info. Since then I've gotten the drug and background check back and (unsurprisingly to myself) I'm fine.
Tomorrow it will have been a month since my background check was sent back to LM. I've tried getting in contact with the person that sent me the offer a couple of times with no success. The documents they sent me originally are no longer in my candidate portal.
I know the only step left is to discuss a start date; however, I'm becoming increasingly worried that the offer may have been rescinded without being informed. I was wondering if someone could tell me what the usual timeline for getting a start date is? Or if my worries have some validity to it?
I'm sorry for the length of this comment and if I'm coming off impatient. It's just the silence from LM has been really troubling, and I'm worried I've been packing my belongings in vain.

I interviewed at lockheed about a month ago and never recieved a notification on the decision except for a status change on my portal saying I was no longer considered for the position anymore. I contacted the recruiter and she told me that the hiring manager is opening another position I applied for and that I will be considered for the position once they open it. Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

I accepted an offer mid August without a start date, it was contingent on passing the background/security clearance. I'ts been a month and I still haven't heard back yet.
I know I should be a bit more patience, but I'm getting worried. I know the security clearance can take months and maybe a year, but there's no way they would wait until the security clearance is done to give me a start date right? My colleagues said usually I would start working and they will continue with the secret clearance check and then if anything happens, a decision will be made then.
I've checked the status on Sterling's website and it says in progress. I've emailed and called the HR recruiter, but no response for 2 weeks.

I was offered a position recently and on my application I stated my gpa (embarrassingly low). I got the offer letter this past week and one of the contigencies is that I graduate with a 2.8 by May, which way out of reach for me. Will they work with some people with a lower gpa or should I expect the worst?

Wondering if anyone was in the same boat as me or can give some insight.
Recently I just accepted and signed an offer letter for a position at Lockheed Martin ft worth location.
I’ve gone through the background check and everything came back fine now I’ve been waiting on a start date.
It’s been about two months since I’ve accepted the offer and was wondering if waiting this long is standard procedure.
The position is a secret clearance position
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Same here. I applied for a position and quickly went to stage two for "resume under review", which was the first of many applications to go to that stage. So naturally I was checking everyday to see how it progressed to see if I would get selected for an interview, but it was gone today. I haven't gotten the typical "we are considering other candidates" email but it still leaves a lot of questions unanswered.
